	THIS IS A 12+ HOUR TOUR! We depart Las Vegas at 6:30am and return around 6:30pm. Tours run longer during summer.
	WE USE 15 PASSENGER VANS: Please make sure you are comfortable traveling in our vans.
	REFUNDS: Cancellations within 48 hours are not eligible for refunds.
	GROUP SIZES: Please make sure that small group tours are conducive to your travel needs.
	PADDLE RATING 3/10: There aren't any white water rapids on this tour and you'll only flip if you force the kayak over. It's a perfect paddling tour for beginners or those who have never been in a kayak before!

	NO CHILDREN UNDER 10: We unfortunately do not allow children under ten. The river can be a very dangerous place and we require that children ride in tandem kayaks with an adult. All children and adults should be good swimmers.
	SHOWS: Please DO NOT, never-ever-ever, swear-on-a-grave, BOOK A SHOW on the same night as your tour. There's always a slight chance that your tour experience could be vastly enhanced by a non-charged bonus like a flat tire, inclement weather, accident on the freeway, or even get caught in a herd of my beloved Michigan state animals, construction cones!

The Hoover Dam Kayaking tour takes you back into that surreal landscape and allows you to connect with the deeper, natural side of Las Vegas and the Southwest. We'll paddle and swim our way down the river and guide you through what we know will be one of the greatest experiences of your life!

Our Hoover Dam Kayaking tours give customers more opportunity to explore the natural side of Las Vegas. Most of the tour guides at Grand-Adventures.com enjoy kayaking the Colorado River south of Hoover Dam and have plenty of experience on the river. It's one of the most beautiful areas along the Colorado River outside of the Grand Canyon and opens up a totally different, enlightening experience. We'll paddle down the river, engulfed deep into the river gorge. We'll glide along on the intrepid force of the Colorado River, the same mighty river that skillfully carved out most natural pieces of artwork in world history, the Grand Canyon. We'll stop at a few beaches along the river, have a picnic lunch, hike to some hot springs, kayak through caves, and work our way down to Willow Beach. The entire paddle route is 11 miles or 17.7 K and flows downriver. Strong winds blowing up the canyon can make paddling difficult at times but it's within this wind that you'll feel the strength of history that made the Southwest so unique and impressive.

Your day will begin at the base of Hoover Dam, where we'll drop 1,100 feet in elevation and face the wall of the mighty dam! We'll unload the boats and give you some basic instructions on paddling and how to climb back into your kayak in case you take a little swim! The first major exploration point will be Sauna Cave. The Bureau of Reclamation dug this cave before Hoover Dam to sample the minerals, strength of the rocks, and fault lines. Your tour guide will point out all of the slot canyons while informing you of the rich history of the Colorado River, geography, and significance of the area. We'll stop for a really cool picnic lunch, swim in the river, and ponder all great mysteries of life. We'll finally reach Willow Beach eleven miles downriver from Hoover Dam, pull the kayaks out, and head back to Las Vegas!

We include a McDonald's breakfast in your Hoover Dam Kayaking Tour with Grand-Adventures.com. You can eat as much as you like. We use to serve the continental breakfast but we learned that we ended up losing more travel time by doing this. Our guests ended up ordering food at gas stations, asked to stop, or walked to nearby places to get a bite to eat. Plus, everyone at Grand-Adventures.com came from families where it was only proper to stuff the guests with food!

We will begin our kayaking tour at the base of Hoover Dam and get a great opportunity to take pictures of the dam and power plant!The Hoover Dam was the largest dam built at the time and was considered the largest masonry construction project undertaken by mankind since the construction of the Great Pyramids of Giza.

We provide a picnic lunch during the tour. The tour guide will carry the lunch with them and find a great resting stop along the river on a beach so that you can eat,swim,and enjoy the river. The picnic lunch is one of the main characteristics that separate our tours from all other tour companies. The sandwiches are big and there is plenty of food to eat. Most people save half of the sandwich for later. We do not believe in the type of hospitality that leaves people still hungry after a scheduled meal. We use 18.1 foot Necky Looksha Tandem Touring Sea Kayaks for your kayaking tour. They are 30"wide and provide excellent cutting speed on the river. Shorter,14 foot tandem kayaks have a lot more drag and don't cut the water as well, which means you are going to paddle a lot more! Our kayaks are very long but wide enough so that you don't have to worry about flipping over!They also have rudders to help you turn quickly!

We use 18.1 foot Necky Looksha Tandem Touring Sea Kayaks for your kayaking tour. They are 30" wide and provide excellent cutting speed on the river. Lake Mead National Recreation Area charges a permit fee of $17 per person. All of our tours are "all-inclusive",meaning the price we list is the final price. We do not charge permit fees,fuel surcharges,or taxes on serviceable goods.

..ROOM FOR SMALL BACKPACKS on your LAS VEGAS KAYAKING TOUR

You can bring a small backpack for extra clothes and camera equipment but you won't have enough room for medium or large backpacks. Each guest can bring 1-2 small backpacks. One can fit in the waterproof trunk and the other can sit in the hull with the each paddler.

There aren't any whitewater rapids on this tour. It's perfect for beginners or people who have never been on a kayak before! Kayaks are not like canoes at all, where you flip over with any unorthodox movement. They are very stable and designed to travel low and tight across the water surface. Their hull is designed to sit deep into the water while cutting through it with ease. We'll give a short class on paddling before we hop into the river too!
